Oh That Sounds So Sweet…Chocolate Cake Recipes

One of the most interesting and well-adored varieties of cakes is the chocolate cake. Who knows how many varieties there presently are?

Man has been inloved with chocolates for centuries now. And his enthusiasm is further lit when he thought of mixing his precious chocolates into his desired treats. One of which is the cake.

Chocolates are produced from cacao beans that grow typically in warm countries. From a single type of seed comes all forms of chocolates that we have today namely dark, white, milk, bittersweet, and unsweetened chocolates. However among these varieties, the least used for baking cakes (except only for making cookies) is the milk chocolate.

We have prepared two chocolate cake recipe types in here that you would surely love and leave you hovering over the table with your spoons and a chocolaty smile on your face.

Lest start with the Basic Chocolate Cake recipe

1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract

1 c boiling water

1 c sour cream

1/2 cup softened butter

1/2 tsp of salt

2 cups cake flour (sifted)

2 cups sugar

2 tsp of baking soda

3 eggs

3 oz of melted unsweetened chocolate

Instructions:
You would like first to preheat the oven for 12 to 15 minutes prior to baking. While doing this spread shortening and flour two 9" cake pans.

Then cream sugar and butter. Gradually add eggs and beat until a fluffy consistency is achieved. Then blend into the mixture the melted chocolate and vanilla.

Now start with the dried ingredients. First sift the flour with salt and baking soda. Blend the sour cream followed by the chocolate mixture until they are well-mixed. Stir this mixture over a boiling water. The resulting batter must be thin.

Pour this mixture into the pans and bake for half an hour. Check if the cakes are done using a cake tester or by sticking a toothpick into the center of the cakes. This must come out clean. Remove pans from the oven and gently pull out the cakes from the pan. Cool on racks for 10 minutes. Frost the finished cakes if desired.

Now begin with one of the famous variations of chocolate cake, the Hot Fudge Sundae Cake recipe. Here are the ingredients:

1 c chopped walnuts

1 c milk

1 tsp salt

1/2 c cocoa

1-1/3 cups sugar

2 cups flour

2 cups brown sugar (packed)

2 tsps vanilla

3 cups boiling water

4 tbsps melted margarine or butter

4 tsps baking powder

6 tbsps baking cocoa

In a large mixing bowl, combine all dried ingredients except chopped walnuts, ½ cup cocoa and brown sugar. Prepare another bowl and mix vanilla, milk and melted margarine or butter. Add this to the dried ingredients and blend until smooth. Then throw in the chopped walnuts. Spread this mixture into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

Mix the remaining cocoa and brown sugar in separate bowl. Sprinkle this on top of the batter afterwards. Then pour boiling water over the cake.

For 50 minutes, bake this cake in 350 degrees F oven.

This cake will form its own fudge underneath so avoid turning the cake upside down. When it's done, cool for some minutes and serve with vanilla ice cream.

Aside from the two chocolate cake recipes we have provided here, there are numerous others that will definitely make a favorite.
