Meatloaf ala Spaña
Why do you love meatloaf? Maybe it reminds you of being a kid. When your mom asks you what you want for dinner you will instantly answer – Meatloaf. Mi favorito! Then your mama knows exactly what to prepare – of course her hijo’s favorite is parmesan meatloaf recipe.
As you can recall, when you are not at home then, you go to the nearest cafeteria to order your favorite meatloaf recipe. You can’t seem to get enough of it. So how do you recollect your mama cooking your favorite parmesan meatloaf recipe?
First, she gathers the ingredients… 2 pounds lean ground beef 1 ¼ cups parmesan cheese, grated 1 cup cracker crumbs ¾ cup evaporated milk ½ cup chili sauce ¼ cup green bell pepper, finely chopped 1 egg, beaten 1 small onion, finely chopped salt to taste
All that your mama did is mix all ingredients except chili sauce. Then, the mixture is placed into a 9x5 loaf pan. Then it is baked at 350 degrees Celsius for about an hour. Then chili sauce is spread on top of the meatloaf recipe. Again it is baked for 15-20 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.
After a few moments, your mama will call you out to join your family dinner. You go to your place beside the table and savor your favorite meatloaf recipe. Then you wink and smile at your mama. She knows it means – Gracias mama!

Recently, you have discovered the marvel of meatloaf ala Spaña, a traditional yet enticing meatloaf recipe. Meatloaf ala Spaña is easy to cook. You just need:
1 ½ pounds ground beef
1 ½ pounds ground pork
1 cup milk
4 eggs
8 cloves garlic, minced
3 large onions, diced
¾ cup bread crumbs
¼ cup milled flaxseed
2 tablespoons Manchego cheese, grated
salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce, you need:
16 ounces tomato sauce 2 tablespoons Spanish olive oil 4 cloves garlic, minced 1 medium onion
To prepare, follow the following:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Celsius.
2. In a large bowl, mix milk, cheese, onions, garlic, bread crumbs, eggs, flaxseed, salt and pepper.
3. Form the mixture into a loaf and place it into a loaf pan or large baking dish. Cover and bake it for an hour at 325 degrees Celsius.
4. In a skillet, put in olive oil, garlic, onions, tomato sauce and salt. Mix. Cook for an hour.
5. When the meatloaf is already done, pour sauce over it.
6. Garnish your meatloaf recipe with sliced Spanish green olives and sliced hard boiled eggs. Serve.
This meatloaf recipe costs less in Spain since ground meats are affordable and easy to obtain. Whenever you are outside Spain, this recipe will surely remind you of your hometown. This also satisfies big craving. What are you waiting for, vamos a comer Tarta de Carne!
